Biography
Michaela-Sue “Nicky” Haddox is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology with a minor in Computed Tomography from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating summa cum laude, in April of 2016. During her undergraduate studies at UAB, she participated in breast cancer research. Prior to PA school, Nicky worked for 2.5 years as a certified nuclear medicine technologist/PET/CT tech for two multimodality imaging teams in both inpatient and outpatient clinic settings with a focus in nuclear cardiology. She earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School and was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society upon graduating in May 2021.
Nicky joined Virginia Oncology Associates in 2021 and works alongside Dr. Chang providing care for patients in the Newport News office. She strives to form trusting relationships with her patients and feels patient education is the foundation of quality comprehensive care.
Outside of practicing medicine, Nicky enjoys running/hiking with her 2 dogs, reading, crafting, and kayaking. On the weekends you’ll usually find her at the beach, shooting hoops, or on the golf course with her husband.
