Biography
Dr. Omer Ali is board-certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Internal Medicine. A native of Northern Virginia, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. He went on to receive his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at VCU School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Ali completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ali has published and presented research on a wide range of hematologic and oncologic malignancies. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Ali provides comprehensive care for patients with all types of blood disorders and cancer diagnoses.
Dr. Ali was drawn to the field of hematology and oncology by a desire to help patients and their families navigate the challenges that often accompany a cancer diagnosis. He believes that exceptional care begins with trust, compassion, and open communication. By taking the time to understand each patient's concerns, goals, and values, he works collaboratively to create a personalized treatment experience focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.
In his free time, Dr. Ali enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends, reading, hiking, traveling, as well as keeping up with his passion for cars and Formula 1 motor racing.
