Biography
Dr. Omer Ali is board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Ali was born and raised in Northern Virginia. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. Following this, he remained in Richmond, VA and attended the Medical College of Virginia/VCU School of Medicine where he received his medical degree. Dr. Ali then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He completed his subspecialty training in hematology/medical oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Ali has published and presented on numerous hematologic and oncologic malignancies over the course of his career. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology, and American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Ali treats all forms of hematologic and oncologic disorders.
Dr. Ali’s main passion for hematology and oncology has primarily focused on his desire to help patients and their loved ones navigate the often overwhelming, life-changing diagnosis of cancer. The essence of his care revolves around building trusting relationships and leaving a positive impact in each patient’s life. He uses each patient interaction to understand his patient’s concerns and what they value in order to create the best treatment experience.
In his free time, Dr. Ali enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, hiking, traveling, as well as keeping up with his passion for cars and Formula 1 motor racing.
