Biography

Dr. Masab earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine residency at Jefferson Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, and a hematology-oncology fellowship at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, where he served as Chief Fellow.

Before fellowship, he worked as an internal medicine hospitalist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at West Virginia University, where he helped establish the institution’s oncology-hospitalist service. Following fellowship, he practiced as a hematology-oncology physician with Riverside Medical Group in Southeast Virginia before joining Virginia Oncology Associates.

Dr. Masab treats the full spectrum of benign and malignant hematologic conditions as well as all solid tumors and holds active medical licenses in Virginia and North Carolina. He is committed to compassionate, evidence-based cancer care, emphasizing shared, informed decision-making with patients and their families. He remains actively involved in clinical research and has authored peer-reviewed publications focused on cancer treatment. Dr. Masab values strong communication with referring physicians and multidisciplinary partners to ensure coordinated, seamless care.

He strives to build long-term, meaningful relationships with his patients and community. His philosophy centers on treating patients like family, listening closely to their goals, and delivering personalized care that respects their values.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Masab enjoys spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and extended family. He has a passion for traveling, following cricket and Formula 1, and is an avid car enthusiast.
