Biography

Dr. Chen is a board-certified oncologist/hematologist. She received her medical degree from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in China and her Doctor of Philosophy in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology from the University of Nevada in Reno. After graduating from the PhD program, she became a research associate at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She subsequently completed her medical training in New York City.

Prior to joining Virginia Oncology Associates, Dr. Chen was an Associate Professor at Duke University and a member of the Duke Cancer Institute. She participated in clinical trials and enjoyed mentoring residents and fellows.

Dr. Chen is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH). She is the author of numerous publications on topics in Hematology and Oncology. She is also an editor of Hematology and Oncology journals.

Outside of work, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and cooking.
