Biography

Dr. Gradon Nielsen earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia after graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Rochester with a distinction in research and went on to complete a Hematology and Oncology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, which is consistently named among the top cancer centers in the nation. 

Dr. Nielsen treats all types of cancer and blood disorders. He has a strong research background, with a special interest in healthcare quality improvement as well as the rapidly changing fields of immunotherapy and genotype-directed therapy. A published author, Dr. Nielsen, has been featured in The Oncologist, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and The Washington Manual of Oncology. He has also served as an investigator for multiple clinical trials. 

Known for his warm personality and excellent communication, Dr. Nielsen prioritizes developing authentic and meaningful relationships with his patients. Working side by side with them, he provides personalized treatment plans that incorporate the most advanced therapies available and align with their personal values and goals. 

Dr. Nielsen resides in Virginia Beach with his wife and three children. He enjoys volunteering in the community, staying active outdoors, and spending time with his family. He loves to travel and is always looking forward to the next adventure. He is an avid fan of college football and basketball.
