Biography
We are deeply saddened to share that Dr. Saman passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, after a courageous year-and-a-half battle with a mystery illness.
A highly respected physician, he was recognized as the Best Hematologist in the Tidewater area in both 2016 and 2018. He took great pride in his work, his patients, and the life he built, often expressing that he had achieved the American dream through dedication and service.
Dr. Saman will be remembered for his warmth, brilliance, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family and patients. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared.
Dr. Saman is board-certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Internal Medicine. He received his Medical Doctor degree from the University of Damascus School of Medicine. His Internal Medicine Residency was completed at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center, Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Saman completed his Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of South Florida’s H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida, where he served as Chief Fellow of the Hematology/Oncology Training Program.
Dr. Saman remains a proponent of academics and research. Earlier in his career, he completed in-depth studies of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and S-Nitroso-Hemoglobin. During his free time, Dr. Saman enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children. His hobbies include biking, running, swimming, and he is an avid wine collector.
