Biography

Dr. Alencar earned her medical degree from the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil. She then worked there as a family physician for the National Family Health Program for three years. Afterwards, she came to the United States and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami and Fellowship in Hematology‐Oncology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York.

During her time at Einstein, Dr. Alencar participated in several research studies, including projects with Murine Embryonic Stem Cells. She is the author of numerous abstracts and publications on topics in Hematology and Oncology. She has worked as a Hematologist‐Oncologist in Ashland, KY, and also as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Christus University in Brazil.

Dr. Alencar’s clinical interests include breast, lung and blood cancers. She is committed to providing Personalized Cancer Care and engaging patients in the latest cancer clinical trials.
