Biography
Dr. Danielle Chau has joined Virginia Oncology Associates to continue providing comprehensive care for women with gynecologic cancer. She specializes in surgery, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy for cancers involving the uterus, cervix, tubes, ovaries, vagina, and vulva - including rare pelvic malignancies.
Dr. Chau prioritizes quality evidence-based care that maximizes the impact of treatment while minimizing the impact on her patients’ daily lives. This includes robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, advanced recovery strategies, and access to novel therapies through clinical trials. She is also excited to be bringing her experience with heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to the greater Tidewater Region.
Dr. Chau is honored to help patients and their families navigate decisions throughout every step of a difficult diagnosis. She emphasizes that every patient's journey is unique; taking the time to listen and advocate for each patient is the most rewarding part of her job. Her holistic approach was fostered through training at several prominent hospital systems including Johns Hopkins and the Cleveland Clinic. Of all her surgical and clinical achievements, Dr. Chau is most proud of consistent recognition as a medical educator and mentor to her peers - she strives to make others as passionate about the care of women with cancer as she is!
