Biography
Kelsey Sayre, PA-C, is a Virginia Beach native who earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies, with a minor in Nonprofit Studies, from James Madison University. Following graduation, she briefly worked in the nonprofit sector as Program Director for Toby’s Dream Foundation, a local organization dedicated to fulfilling dreams for children living with life-threatening illnesses throughout Hampton Roads.
While her family had already been profoundly affected by cancer, the disease came knocking once again, inspiring Kelsey to pursue a career in medicine. She began completing prerequisite coursework while working as a medical assistant and scribe, eventually earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Campbell University. Her clinical experience includes primary care, internal medicine, and urgent care, providing her with a diverse background in patient care.
Kelsey’s connection to Virginia Oncology Associates is especially meaningful and represents a full-circle moment in her life. More than 20 years ago, her mother was a patient at VOA. Today, Kelsey is honored to care for patients at the same organization that was once part of her family’s own healthcare journey.
Outside of work, Kelsey is a wife and mother of two daughters. While she is proud of her career and the opportunity to care for her patients, her most cherished role is being a mom.
