Dr. Howard was the head of the Hematology Oncology division of Portsmouth Naval Hospital for five years prior to joining Mid-Atlantic Consultants in Hematology Oncology. He graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his residency in Internal Medicine at Oakland Naval Hospital and was Chief Resident during his last year. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology. His Hematology Oncology fellowship was completed at the Naval Oncology branch of the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He is a member of ASCO and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has publications in Oncology and Hematology literature. He is a member of the Transfusion Committee at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and the Medical Audit Committee at Maryview Hospital.
