Dr. Daynelle Dedmond graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University. She earned her master's degree in biomedical sciences from Eastern Virginia Medical School and stayed on to earn her medical degree in 2000. She began her residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and completed it in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She also completed a Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Dedmond is a published author and an active member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, the Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology Society, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In 2005, the University of Virginia Medical School class chose Dr. Dedmond as the recipient of the Most Outstanding Resident Teacher Award, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

A Hampton Roads native, Dr. Dedmond is a Gynecological Oncologist with Virginia Oncology Associates and lives in Newport News, Virginia with her two children.
