Dr. Michael Anthony Danso earned his medical degree from the University of London, Royal Free and University College Hospital School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at Pennsylvania Hospital (University of Pennsylvania Health System). He went on to complete a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center in New York where he served as Chief Fellow. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He practices with Virginia Oncology Associates.

Dr. Danso has broad expertise in the management of oncologic and hematologic conditions with a special interest in Breast and Gastrointestinal malignancies. He actively participates in the design and conduct of clinical trials and has been the primary investigator in a number of national clinical trials. Dr Danso is an active member of the British Medical Association, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American Association of Cancer Research, American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has authored or co-authored a number of publications in the field of oncology and edited a text book in oncology named Hematology and Oncology Pearls.
